SS UNS S31000 / S31008
Often referred to as “25-20” stainless, 310 SS wire mesh is suited for applications requiring high strength and excellent oxidation resistance. The maximum safe temperature is about 2000°F, but is successfully used up to 2100°F under certain conditions. Preforms well under intermittent heating and cooling. Type 310 also refered to as T-310 or T310 is nonmagnetic when annealed or cold worked. Well suited where a combination of strength, toughness, corrosion and oxidation-resistance is essential. 310 stainless steel wire mesh screen is often used for welding rod, furnace parts, aircraft and jet engine parts, oil refinery and chemical processing equipment, heat exchangers and strainers.

Alloy 310H Wire Mesh, which Good resistance to mildly corrosive atmospheres, but significantly less than Grade 310H due to the sulphur addition; the sulphide inclusions act as pit initiation sites.
Grade 310 should not be exposed to marine or other similar environments, as these will result in rapid pitting corrosion.
